KULTURKARAVANE (English Below)

L�rdag 16. mai kl. 19:15 blir vi med hjem til Mark Axiak som venter p� oss sammen med Ibou Cissokho og Bafana Isaac Nhlapo og Sondre Meisfjord.

Sammen danner de bandet Burn For The Moon, noe av det mest spennende p� musikkfronten for �yeblikket.. Stemmer, klanger og rytmer som byr p� s� mye, gamle tradisjoner, nye veier, helt unikt, (dette er koronamedisin!) og dette b�r man f� med seg!

I tillegg til v�re sv�rt dyktige og helt s�regne i alle sine roller, har karene (de) hver sin eventyrlige musikk- og musikerhistorie i ryggen. Fra henholdsvis Australia, Senegal og S�rAfrika har de reist langt med musikken sin. Og mye har kommet til underveis.

Noe av dette vil nok v�r �reiseleder�, Patricia Morales og vi f� vite mer om n�r vi m�tes p� l�rdag. Hun er fysisk p� bes�k- p� vegne av oss, s� lenge vi m� holde avstand.

Patricia er selv en fantastisk sanger fra Kuba og vi skal h�re mer fra henne som musiker siden. N� er hun v�r stemme og programleder. Musikk skal vi b�de lytte til og snakke om.

Musikk kan v�re en medisin vi trenger mer av i disse tider!

Saturday May 16th we are invited home to Mark Axiak?s place with Ibou Cissokho and Bafana Isaac Nhlapo, Sondre Meisfjord! Together they are Burn For The Moon, one of the most interesting groups on the music scene these days. Voices, tunes and rhythms moving in so many ways and directions, highly original, most fascinating, (this is true corona medicine!) really something you should not miss!

Besides being brilliant in their different fields as singers and musicians, they all lean on strong and amazing stories both with regards to musical heritage, roots and traditions, and their personal musical history. Born in Australia, Senegal and South Africa, they have all traveled far with their music.

We will hear music with elements passed through many generations and here blended with brand new creations and improvisations, and other genres and traditions. Here and now.

Our guide and leading star on this culture caravan is Patricia Morales, and she will most likely have the guys share both some of their music and some of their stories with us on Saturday. She is our physical visitor, representing the rest of us present in our homes. At safe distance. As long as it takes.

Patricia is actually a real star, a brilliant singer from Cuba, with an international career. We will meet her later on our way in that role, her real one, but for now she is our (Kultur Uten Grensers) voice, leading the way.

With her in front we will travel through many sorts of music, viewing this phenomena that mean so much to most of us, from many different directions. Both enjoying and learning.

Music may be the medicine we just need more of these days!
